North Star Commercial Condominiums
You might remember the days when your need for storage simply didn't exist. You had little money and virtually no possessions. Odds are that that memory is quite old now. Time passed, and you bought things. Some of them are quite big. Despite your having sold and given
away a lot, they still accumulate. Most all are expensive and require care and protection in order to maintain their value, usefulness and appeal. Today, you may have them wedged into your garage, to the exclusion of the cars you'd like to keep there. Worse, you may have them in a variety of unheated rental spaces, your brother-in-law's DIRT FLOOR pole barn, and (to your neighbor's consternation) your backyard.
In contrast to all of that, North Star Commercial Condominiums creates a variety of useful possibilities. For example, it takes a super-strong, HIGH QUALITY, heated storage/work/recreation building and couples it with stunning views of Lake Michigan. It takes voluminous space and links it to an aesthetically pleasing design. It takes proximity to almost everything (Charlevoix 6 minutes, Petoskey 12 minutes, Bay Harbor 8 minutes) and combines it with a deep-woods-by-the-side-of-the-lake feeling. Add certain other modern conveniences like cheap, abundant heating, access to satellite television, telephone and high-speed internet and suddenly a whole new set of opportunities opens up. Now mix in the mezzanine - your own "personal space" - to act as an office, recreation room or something else altogether. Is this just storage or is it function and style mixed in complementary and pleasing proportion? Your call, because it can be your environment to fashion in your own way.

Toyboxes, Inc. is a Michigan firm wholly owned and operated by Kenneth R. Koss, of Horton Bay, famous for its irreverent, offbeat 4th of July parade, and little else. Well, Ernest Hemingway did fish there. Ken has spent a career in the building and management businesses, having built hundreds of houses and apartments and lots of office space in southeastern Michigan. His focus in recent years was the development of an extensive turkey executive apartment business in Auburn Hills, MI; centered around The Boulevard Luxury Apartments. The Boulevard was sold in 2005, making Ken available to generate his own collection of "stuff" in need of a home. Ken is therefore his own first and fully satisfied customer at North Star!
Construction of the seven-unit "Lakeview" Building was completed in February of 2008. The "Woods" Building, a similar but not identical structure, has an indefinite start date depending entirely on customer interest but should allow for Fall, 2008 occupancy. Opportunities for modifications to the units exist throughout the construction period but, obviously, diminish as time progresses. However, since the mezzanine level is of wood frame construction, considerable latitude exists for the addition of features even after construction is complete. There is a high degree of mechanical flexibility in providing for future additions to plumbing, heating, electrical and communications equipment.
